Victoria Pineapple: A Tropical Twist on Bourbon Exploration

Some ideas can only be discovered by following your curiosity.

For our latest Barrel Finish release, that curiosity led us well beyond Kentucky and into the Caribbean, where we found something extraordinary: rum casks that had once held premium Caribbean rum aged with the prized Victoria pineapple.

Known for its small size, fragrant aroma, and remarkable sweetness, the Victoria pineapple leaves more than a memory behind. During the rum aging process, it imparts subtle tropical character into the spirit and, over time, into the oak itself. Those barrels eventually found their way to Bardstown, carrying with them a story we couldn’t resist exploring.

Back in Kentucky, we filled those casks with a custom blend of straight bourbon and rye before adding fresh pineapple to echo the original process that helped shape the rum they once held. The goal wasn’t to create a flavored bourbon. It was to better understand what those remarkable barrels still had to offer.

The result is Victoria Pineapple, one of our most distinctive Barrel Finish releases to date.

Bright tropical fruit immediately captures your attention before rye spice reminds you that this is unmistakably whiskey. Layers of vanilla and rich toffee emerge throughout the finish, creating a whiskey that feels both familiar and entirely unexpected.

At Bardstown Bourbon Company, exploration has always meant looking beyond convention. Whether it’s experimenting with different oak species, innovative blending techniques, or unique finishing casks from around the world, we believe the best whiskey often begins with a simple question: What if?

Victoria Pineapple is another expression of that philosophy.

Available exclusively in Kentucky, this limited Barrel Finish release invites bourbon enthusiasts to experience what can happen when exceptional barrels inspire exceptional bourbon.

Because there’s nowhere we won’t go to push the boundaries of bourbon.
